I purchased this mat for one reason and one reason only. For stretching exercises. I have a really bad back and I need to do a lot of stretching every single morning and every night before I go to bed. I have tried lots of cheaper mats and none of them were really something I would recommend to someone. Then I ran across this mat at one of my local fitness shops and I could tell immediately that it was a step above the other mats I had used. Yes it was expensive compared to other mats but as I have stated in lots of other reviews, I have no problem paying more if it actually gets me something higher in quality and this is certainly one of those cases.

The mat measures in at 1/4" thick which means its extremely comfortable even if your only using it for stretching as there are some stretching positions that can get uncomfortable with cheaper mats especially if you suffer from pain in those areas anyways. I have now been using this mat for over 4 weeks and its been such a huge improvement over my previous mats that I felt inclined to come on here and write a review about it. Its just really night and day compared to a lot of the other mats out there. I for one have no problem with the slipping that some people have been complaining about on here, in fact I have a hard time understanding how they can be slipping unless of course they have the mat the wrong side up.

The Bottom line - This mat is easily the best mat I have ever seen and is absolutely worth every penny. While this mat is mainly aimed at activities like Yoga or Pilates, it can also be used for other things like simple stretching. Now that I have actually gotten used to this mat, I will never use anything else ever again.
